Introduction

Love is one of the most intense human emotions that can cause others to think and act in the most unusual and irrational ways. Some people have lied, cheated, and even killed to obtain it. Some may also wish to die when they lose it. Love is one of the most desirable human emotions and it can greatly influence and overwhelm anyone at any age. It is a universal abstract language we all can relate to. The type of love that we experience however, defines the limitations of how similar we are to one another. There exists maternal love, unconditional love, friendship love, and romantic love. There are also different levels of love a couple can have in contrast with another couple. There are even times when we make ourselves believe that the person we think we love is also in love with us and this can create a negative impact on their experience with love. This type of experience with love is widespread among middle school students when they begin to experiment with this desired emotion.

This website aims to study the cause and effects of tween love (preadolescents between the ages of 11-14 years of age). It will look into both the physical and social factors that are influencing tweens today and what will result by such influences. A research has been done that studied how preadolescents today perceive love and relationships among their peers and what they have found evident in the relationships that they or their friends were in. Early maturation as well as research in the mass media and how they present love to tweens was also looked into as possible causes for this young love phenomenon.
